About the Exhibitor
The Mindful Collective is a collective of Japanese artisans, existing as a space where the traditions and techniques of Japan resonate with the inner voice of the contemporary individual.
Its collections are more than mere tools or objects of consumption; they are mirrors reflecting the warmth and dedication of the artisan's hand, as well as the conscious choice of the user.
Through this mirror, the collective aims to draw awareness towards the "continuum between the self and the world," offering insights for one’s journey to explore who they are within the larger contexts of society, family, and the universe—ultimately leading to the discovery of intrinsic richness.
The Collective believes that this very act of creation is the "Art of Conscious Existence."
About the Products
Mino Washi Pen
Features a barrel made with Mino Washi, a traditional Japanese paper from Gifu Prefecture recognised as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Mino Washi, crafted with the clear waters of the Nagara and Itadori rivers, is known for its delicate texture, exceptional strength, and consistent high quality. To ensure daily usability, the paper is meticulously hand-rolled by artisans and sealed with a durable acrylic resin coating.
Bridge and Blend Incense
Inspired by the fragrance blends of 1000 years ago, from the time of The Tale of Genji, and faithfully recreated for the modern day. Products are 100% natural, handmade in a traditional way, and created with sustainability in mind, with a portion of sales donated to environmental conservation efforts. It connects Japan's traditional scents to the present and stimulates rich sensibility.
KT Vace Kumihimo
Specialises in Iga Kumihimo, a traditional craft from Mie Prefecture that has been passed down since before the Nara period. By braiding silk, gold, and silver threads on various stands (kumidai), they create cords with a unique texture, excellent elasticity, and vibrant colours. The beautiful handiwork of the craftsman and the unique colour combinations are now available as practical, everyday accessories and small items, blending traditional techniques with contemporary flair.
