About the Exhibitor

KIRIORI is a design brand launched by Takahashi Keisei Corporation, a long-established cutting die manufacturer in Yamagata, Japan. Building on decades of expertise in high-precision die-cutting technology, KIRIORI introduces products that express both beauty and functionality through the simple acts of cutting and folding. Without relying on printing or decoration, its minimalist designs draw out the natural charm of each material.

One of their signature projects, NORI-LAB, features uniquely designed edible seaweed sheets intricately cut into lace patterns or playful motifs such as shogi (Japanese chess) pieces and the shape of Yamagata Prefecture, bringing surprise and joy to the dining table. The brand also develops environmentally conscious products, such as cardboard stools and biodegradable cutlery, reflecting its commitment to a sustainable future.

By handling everything from planning to production in-house, KIRIORI fuses technology and design to create new value. Through these efforts, the brand continues to share the appeal of Japanese craftsmanship with the world while utilising local resources.

About the Products

KIRIORI applies advanced industrial techniques used to manufacture smartphone components to introduce innovation across diverse fields, including food and paper products. The brand’s creations bring surprise and beauty into everyday life through precision techniques of cutting and folding.

In its signature NORI-LAB series, KIRIORI transforms sheets of seaweed into edible works of art with intricate patterns. Popular items include Yamagata Nori, shaped like Yamagata Prefecture, and Koma Nori, designed as shogi pieces, incorporating local culture and playful elements. These products are highly appreciated as souvenirs and gifts.

Beyond food design, KIRIORI also develops eco-friendly products, such as cardboard furniture and a series of biodegradable paper cutlery called amu. The brand also actively engages in social contribution initiatives, including outsourcing processing to facilities for people with disabilities.

KIRIORI embodies the ideals of contemporary Japanese craftsmanship, blending technical expertise, design excellence, regional character, environmental awareness, and social contribution. Its products deliver small moments of wonder in everyday life, enriching the hearts of those who see and use them.
