About the Exhibitor

Founded in 1963 in Kumamoto, southern Japan, YAMACHIKU has been dedicated to crafting bamboo chopsticks for over 60 years. From harvesting and shaping to finishing and packaging, every process is carried out mostly by hand, guided by the expertise of skilled artisans.

The Moso bamboo used in YAMACHIKU’s products grows abundantly in the surrounding forests of Kumamoto. Fast-growing and renewable, it is one of Japan’s most sustainable natural materials. Light, refined, and durable, bamboo chopsticks are not only practical utensils but also a reflection of Japanese craftsmanship and respect for nature.

At the heart of YAMACHIKU’s work lies the spirit of gratitude—to food, to the people who prepare it, and to life itself—expressed in the act of “receiving gratefully and finishing beautifully.” Through their craft, YAMACHIKU continues to share this sense of care and appreciation at dining tables in Japan and around the world.

About the Products

Made entirely from sustainably harvested natural bamboo grown in Japan, YAMACHIKU’s chopsticks are shaped one by one by skilled artisans, drawing on decades of craftsmanship dedicated exclusively to bamboo chopsticks. The minimalist design highlights the inherent beauty of the material, while each pair is light, strong and practical, with fine tips and a gentle square form that ensures an effortless grip. Beautifully functional, YAMACHIKU’s chopsticks are perfect for everyday use or as thoughtful gifts.
